Every day counts at Will Rogers Middle School and it's important for your student to be in school and on time each day. When it is necessary for your student to miss class it's important that you report the absence as soon as possible. This can be done by leaving a message on our 24-hour attendance line by calling the school at (916) 971-7889 and selecting option 1 or by email. 

Please try to schedule all medical appointments before/after school hours.  If it is necessary to schedule an appointment during school hours, we request you acquire a note from the doctor as it will clear the absence completely.  Otherwise, it will remain as an unexcused absence.  

The BRYCS Refugee Portal provides easy access to multi-lingual resources for parents about the U.S. school system and attendance.

Naviance

Planning for the future is a big part of middle school. Naviance offers resources for students, parents and school staff to help organize and plan for a students future in college or career.  

 

Parents and family members often ask how they can support and encourage their student's creativity and love of learning. Whether you have a 7-year-old or a 17-year-old, research shows that students perform better academically and behaviorally if the student knows their parents are involved and have high expectations. To support this effort, each month we will feature a new "Helping Children Learn" newsletter that is full of ideas to support learning at home.
